Donald Trump claims Apple CEO Tim Cook promised him 3 U.S. manufacturing plants

Make Apple American Again.

Donald Trump told the Wall Street Journal in an interview on Tuesday that Apple CEO Tim Cook committed to building three new manufacturing plants in the U.S.

“I spoke to [Mr. Cook], he’s promised me three big plants—big, big, big,” Trump said to the Journal.

The future of Apple manufacturing has become a hot topic under Trump, who has vowed to return lost jobs to U.S. workers.

Key among Trump’s plans is Apple, which does the bulk of its manufacturing outside of the U.S.

Trump started pushing for Apple to bring that manufacturing back stateside just days after the presidential election.  Read more…

‘Point Break’ 2017: Robbers sport Trump masks in Italy

If you want to hide in plain sight, put on a mask of the most talked about man in the world.

That seems to have been the logic of two robbers near Turin, Italy (also sort of the logic of the surfer-robbers in the movie Point Break), whom police have reportedly accused of stealing around $117,000 from a series of banks.

In the video below, you can see one of the two Trump mask-wearing robbers cover up a security camera (apparently not realizing he was visible on a separate camera) before attaching some kind of explosive to a machine full of cash.  Read more…

Chrissy Teigen joins the ranks of those who have been blocked by Donald Trump on Twitter

Chrissy Teigen is a magazine cover star, successful television host and model, and a hilarious person to follow on social media—but as of this morning, she has one more thing to add to her resume.

Teigen has officially been blocked by the president of the United States, most likely because she’s stuck to her promise to “never stop talking about how horrible Donald Trump is.”

“After nine years of hating Donald J. Trump, telling him ‘lol no one likes you’ was the straw,” Teigen wrote, sharing an image of the blocked message she received upon visiting the president’s Twitter page.  Read more…

Veteran scoutmaster scolds Trump in scathing tweetstorm

“Who the hell wants to speak about politics when I’m in front of the Boy Scouts?” Donald Trump said Monday.

Funny he should ask that, because Trump talked a lot about politics during his speech Monday at the National Scout Jamboree in West Virginia.

That angered a veteran scout leader, who said Trump made his appearance in front of about 30,000 Boy Scouts all about himself.

Ted Genoways‏, a scoutmaster whose family has had close ties to the Boy Scouts of America for decades, delivered a scathing tweetstorm after Trump used the occasion to once again to take aim at the press, political rivals, and Obamacare in his speech. Read more…

Everyone is tweeting the Boy Scouts values after Trump turns jamboree into full-blown political rally

A Boy Scout is, apparently, trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.

That’s according to the Scout values that many are citing in contrast with President Trump’s speech at Monday’s Boy Scouts of America 2017 National Scout Jamboree in West Virginia. The president, who wasn’t a Boy Scout, turned the event into one of his political rallies after he said he wasn’t going to talk about politics.

He went from “who the hell wants to speak about politics when I’m in front of the Boy Scouts?” to taking on health care, winning the electoral college, draining the swamp, fake news, New York cocktail parties, and the sexual proclivities of old rich men for good measure.  Read more…

This Trump/Scaramucci supercut proves why they call him ‘The Mooch’

The Mooch knows how to schmooze.

President Donald Trump appointed Anthony “The Mooch” Scaramucci as the new White House communications director on Friday, which sadly caused press secretary Sean Spicer to resign

But while Spicer and his viral moments will be missed, The Daily Show is proving that The Mooch comes with his own brand of entertainment.

Daily Show producers cut together Trump and The Mooch using pretty much the exact same hand gestures while talking to a crowd, proving the two are pretty much the exact same person when it comes to hand speak.  Read more…

Jared Kushner says a fake Guccifer tried to extort the Trump campaign for Bitcoin

Jared Kushner — prince of the United States and future savior of the Middle East — wants you to know that not all computer crazies worked to help his father-in-law during the 2016 presidential campaign.

The Kush sat before investigators in Congress on Monday to talk about his meetings with Russian folk leading up to last year’s election, and he wanted the committee to know that at no point was he colluding with Moscow to elect Donald Trump. He may not have disclosed some of the meetings he had with Russians when he filed for his security clearance, but this does not mean the meetings were nefarious.  Read more…

Trump’s flawless sketch of the NYC skyline is now set for auction

Do you have 9,000 extra dollars and *extremely phlegmy cough* singular taste in art? Wonderful — please be the one to buy Donald Trump’s line drawing of the NYC skyline.

Trump originally created this flawless sketch for a 2005 auction benefitting a global literacy initiative. (Charlize Theron, Jennifer Garner, and John McCain also contributed work.) You can tell he spent a lot of time on the drawing because some buildings have triangle roofs and some do not.

Now, 12 years later, the drawing — which Trump signed with a golden big boy marker — is listed by Nate D. Sanders Auctions as a “rare original artwork by the president.” Sadly, that is true. Read more…

Trivial Pursuit saw the Trump presidency coming decades ago

The 1980s were a very different time in the world. People called each other on house phones, played board games together, read Victorian literature by candlelight, fetched water from the town well, and sat by the window to wait for their sons to come back from war.

As a millennial, this is my understanding.

Anyway, Twitter user Jon Keegan stumbled upon an oddly prophetic Trivial Pursuit card from that ancient time that quite astutely summed up the year 2017 and our president.

Spotted by my wife in Trivial Pursuit 80’s edition tonight. Propheticpic.twitter.com/gyVbjSV21q
